Each nine weeks, a group of students selects, plans, executes
and documents a project that serves the Evansville community or an EVSC school.
Select an Organization
- Identify 2 or 3 charities or not-for-profit organizations that the team wishes to help.
- Assign team members to research each organization
- Research the charity or organization to determine the following:
- reason for selecting this organization
- main purpose of the organization
- mission statement
- primary population served
- background/history of organization in Evansville
- past or ongoing projects
- primary contact person
- make initial contact with organization to determine of a need exists
- make initial contact with organization to determine of a need exists
- based on initial contact, team selects organization to serve
- reason for selecting this organization
- Upload, complete, and submit the Organization Overview for instructor approval

Organize Team Leadership
Select students to serve as a Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager for the task.
- Project Manager
- serves as the primary contact for the organization and Academy instructors
- delegates coordinator roles
- oversees and manages execution and completion of the task
- provides leadership for the group
- uploads, completes, and submits Team Leadership Structure document for instructor approval.

- works with the Project Manager in the overseeing and management of the task.
- works with Academy instructors to obtain necessary paperwork (releases, permission slips, donation forms)

Plan the Project
- Team visits organization to better understand its function and needs and meet with the organization contact person.
- During the visit and meeting with contact person, the Project Manager leads the discuss to
- Identify a need of the organization
- Brainstorm and discuss possible projects that would meet the need
- Schedule the next meeting to present the group's Project Proposal
- Photographer/Videographer takes pictures to document the meeting
- Recording Secretary uploads, and begins entering events on Project Chronology.

Carry Out the Project
- Project Manager leads the team in the execution of the project following the Project Plan and Timeline.

Project Presentation
- The Service Project Final Report is a formal write-up of your project presented in a binder. The Introduction, Project Implementation, and Reflection will run 3-5 pages
Final Report will include:
- Title Page

Using your Select an Organization document as a guide, tell about your organization. Next refer to the Project Proposal to explain the project, what it was intended to accomplish, and how the team accomplished its goals. - Project implementation
Using your Project Chronology describe the planning stages of your project, who you met with, and any special problems in planning that you had to resolve. Discuss what you did to prepare for your project, such as getting donations of material and equipment, preparing posters and handouts, organizing team members.
